Danny Yount is a title designer and director based in the United States, featured in the Art of Styleframe library. Everything below is taken from the work page he publishes himself, and each gallery entry links straight back to it.

What he does

Yount builds the two or three minutes of a film that most people never think about, and then can't forget. Main titles. End crawls. Studio logo stings. Hologram interfaces that have to read as believable technology while a camera swings past them. His credits sit largely at Prologue Films, with earlier television work produced at Digital Kitchen.

Works in the gallery

The gallery pulls twelve pieces from his own work page. Oblivion covers the main title and the end credit sequence, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced at Prologue Films. Kosinski shows up again on Tron Legacy, where Yount's credit spans studio logos, a TV news sequence with visual effects, and the end credit sequence.

Guy Ritchie accounts for a run of them. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Rock n Rolla both list studio logos and titles, the latter adding a studio logo sequence plus the main title. Shane Black is the other recurring director: Iron Man III brought the end credit sequence and the holographic phone design, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was a main title sequence with Joel Silver producing.

Then there's the Marvel run under Jon Favreau. Iron Man 2 covers main titles and hologram interfaces. Iron Man is the end credit sequence. The Reaping, directed by Stephen Hopkins, is another end credit piece.

Two entries sit outside the feature work. Six Feet Under is a TV main title sequence produced at Digital Kitchen, and it's arguably the credit that made his name. Through The Wormhole With Morgan Freeman covers on-air promos for The Science Channel. Semi-Permanent 2013 is the odd one out, opening titles for a design conference rather than a studio picture.

Is there a signature? Look at the list and you'll notice how rarely he repeats a visual approach. The through-line is restraint, not a style.
