Who he is and what he does

Herman works as a writer, director and designer, and his own site files the work under one heading rather than splitting design from filmmaking. That's the tell. He isn't a title designer who occasionally directs, or a director who occasionally opens After Effects. The two habits sit in the same portfolio because they feed each other.

The practical result is a body of work that swings between two poles. On one side, studio title sequences and screen graphics for large franchise pictures. On the other, self-initiated short films and macro photography studies that he shot, cut and directed himself. Both show up in the gallery above.

Marvel title sequences and screen graphics

A big share of the current portfolio sits inside the Marvel Studios catalogue. Main-on-end sequences for Avengers Endgame, Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther 2 Wakanda Forever, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania are all documented on his site, alongside opening titles for Hawkeye and Loki Season 2. Captain America Brave New World is listed under a different discipline again, covering GFX, UI and HUD design rather than titles.

Why does that matter? Main-on-end work is the least glamorous slot in a feature and one of the hardest to make memorable. Doing it repeatedly, across a decade of releases, is a credential in itself.

Broadcast pitches and earlier network work

The earlier tier of the portfolio is broadcast. Main titles for Starz Magic City and Showtime Penny Dreadful shipped; the HBO Westworld main title and the AMC The Terror main titles are logged as pitches, which the site says plainly instead of blurring the distinction. Netflix Anne With An E rounds out the television side.
