Jimmy Yuan — Director

Jimmy Yuan is a Director based in Australia, featured in the Art of Styleframe library of motion design and visual design talent. This profile aggregates selected works documented in the gallery alongside attribution links back to the artist's own portfolio for verified context.

The work gathered here runs to 12 documented pieces, pulled from a wider portfolio that takes in CARTIER, Dow Pitch Frames, Glory of Heroes, HBO South Asia Re-brand, each one linking back to Jimmy's own site for full credits. Look for HBO Christmas Game Of Thrones Ident, HBO South Asia Channel re-brand, Sand of Time HBO, HBO ASIA FESTIVAL IDENT, among others in the gallery; we link out to the maker's own upload instead of copying the frames here.

The deeper archive sits at behance.net, cargocollective.com; what we maintain is a pointer to it, not a copy of it. Grouping Jimmy by Australia and by actual projects, not by buzzword, is the editorial habit this site has kept since the original gallery.

Who he is and what he does

Yuan is the creative director and owner of Mirari & Co., the Sydney studio he founded in 2010. The company works across broadcast branding, television and cinema commercials, web films and title sequences, and Yuan directs most of it himself.

He writes about the work in the first person plural, always "we", which fits how the studio operates. The projects below are studio output with him steering rather than solo pieces.

HBO Asia

One relationship dominates the gallery. HBO Asia commissioned the South Asia channel rebrand for India, and the studio kept coming back: a Christmas Game of Thrones ident, an earlier Asia Festival ident, and Sand of Time, built around the message that every bit counts when you're making great things. His own note on the Christmas ident says simply that they were happy to work with an old friend again, which is a decent measure of how that relationship went.

Commercial and campaign work

Cartier approached the studio to produce a short film launching a 2013 luxury jewellery series, with a brief asking for five distinct universes. Star Alliance The Way came through Atomic agency and NTS in London, promoting the airline network in China. Two Unilever campaigns are documented, Hellmann's UK and Persil UK, and an MTV Summer ident covers the music channel side.

Glory of Heroes was made with collaborators in China: a twenty-second animation opening an international martial arts competition.

Personal and studio projects

The Heart of Sky is the outlier. Yuan describes it as a chronic background project the studio worked on across two years, fitted around client jobs. Jump Doll and the Dow pitch frames sit in the same experimental category, and the Mirari 2017 reel collects the period's output in one place.
