Heuristics articles and design guides

Nielsen's ten heuristics have aged remarkably well, and this tag puts them to work. Visibility of system status, match between system and real world, error prevention over error messages: we apply these rules to actual interfaces and argue about where they still hold and where they need updating for gesture-driven, AI-mediated products. Expect heuristic evaluations with teeth, not a checklist recited from memory. For designers and researchers who want a shared vocabulary for critique and a fast, cheap way to catch usability problems before testing does.
