Font-Pairing articles and design guides

Two typefaces either sing together or quietly fight for a year until someone notices. This tag is our running notebook on combining type: contrast without clash, matching x-heights, when a single family with enough weights beats a pairing, and safe bets when the brief gives you nothing to go on. We name real fonts and show why a pairing works instead of hand-waving about mood. Designers picking type for a brand, a product, or a one-off poster will get usable calls here. Taste is involved, obviously, and we'll tell you where ours differs from the textbook.
